Established since 2019 & Open to Older Adults in the Greater New York Area:
Open to older adults in the Greater New York Area, telephonic monitoring provides a crucial safety net for isolated older adults through outreach calls from young volunteers, and is one of Search and Care’s longest standing programs. Calls offer friendly check-ins, meaningful conversation, and an open door to additional support, while helping Search and Care keep a tab on and provide support to former and lapsed clients. Phone calls also serve to reduce loneliness, reconnect older adults to Search and Care programs, and remind them they are not alone, ensuring that none of our older community members fall through the cracks, especially as their needs change and they may require more assistance.
